Choose one business opportunity

We would start with a service you can deliver well and have capacity for. Define the service area and prepare a relevant page. Testing many services at once makes results harder to interpret.

Agree the test boundaries beforehand

Write down the budget, review period and criteria for continuing or changing course. This does not guarantee enough data in that period. A small sample may call for a different test, rather than a firm conclusion that a channel works or fails.

Review inquiries alongside cost

Keep a simple record: date, requested service, relevance and sales outcome. A cheap contact who never responds may be worth less than a more expensive, qualified conversation. Check your own response time before increasing spend.

A simple worked example

For illustration, assume 1,000 in ad spend, 20 inquiries and five sales, all in the same currency. Cost per inquiry is 50 and ad spend per sale is 200. Management, landing-page work and other costs are not included yet. To assess sustainability, compare the total acquisition cost with the contribution left after direct delivery costs. Revenue is not the same as money retained by the business.

What to review before increasing the budget

Review actual searches, inquiry locations, requested services and reasons quotes are declined. If many people want something you do not offer, first align the message and campaign setup. If relevant contacts go unanswered, improve inquiry handling. More budget can amplify an existing problem. Prioritize the obstacle supported by the data and customer conversations, rather than changing several unrelated things at once.

End the test with a useful decision

At the review, separate three things: what you know, what you assume and what has not been measured. Record the next change you want to test and the reason for it. If the sample is too small, say so clearly. The review should produce an explainable decision and an agreement about further investment. One unusually good or bad day does not describe an entire channel.

APPLY IT TO YOUR BUSINESS

Narrow the scope and improve measurement first. A clear decision matters more than a long list of tricks.
